3. Use lighter colors on the cover
Lighter colors and reflections occur, while darker colors and mattes disappear. If we try to add balance to a hooded eye shape, which is 90% brow bone with a sagging crease and little visible eyelid space, we want to improve on the less prominent plane. This means that we want to add light to the cover to make it move forward.
Use a flat brush to pack on a shimmer or matte color a shade brighter than your skin tone. Make sure you leave the most saturation on the lid and not bring a shimmer into the crease. We don’t want to improve the plane that already attracts the most attention.
4. Go around your fold
As a reminder, darker mat colors disappear. If you mix a contour color two shades deeper than our skin tone in the crease, we can effectively lift and reshape the eye. The contour color mimics natural shadows and helps the sagging browbone appear higher.
